Firework season can be a troublesome period for us Pet Owners
There is no denying a firework display doesn’t look spectacular as the brightly coloured sparkles contrast brightly against the nights sky. However us Pet lovers sometimes know that as we approach Firework season our pet’s need some guiding support through this time.
With Guy Fawkes Night here in the UK falling on Sunday, 5th November, it’s likely that, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th will also see the sky light up. Diwali, the Hindu festival of light rolling in on Tuesday, November 14th. The skies will be filled with magical bursts of colour, but what does that mean for our four-legged companions?
If you're thinking, "My dog doesn't like fireworks," or you have a jittery feline friend, we've got some tips to make the firework season less stressful for your pets.
Our number one tip is don’t wait for the first firework to go off. Start making preparations NOW, especially if you already know that your pet is fearful of fireworks. Trust me; your cat or dog will thank you. Just like you feel good when eating a balanced diet over time, a complete raw food diet works just the same. You are creating the foundations to a healthy well balanced way of life. Much in the way fitness builds up over time in our own bodies through consistent training or consistent movement. A well balanced healthy Pet is created over time, so the sooner you can start preparations for fireworks the better.
Our Top Tips
Create a Cosy Den
Pets need a safe space where they can retreat when the fireworks start exploding. A cosy den under the stairs or in a cupboard is a great option. You can make this space even more inviting by adding their favourite toy or blanket.
Top Tip: Start feeding them in this space a few days before the firework season starts. That way, they’ll associate the den with good things and feel more at ease there. A Natural Treat would work brilliantly
Use Pet Remedy for a Calming Effect
Sprinkle a few drops of Pet Remedy on their bedding for that extra calming effect. Trust me, it works. A calm pet is a happy pet, and a happy pet makes for an energised and vibrant you!
Enrichment Meals
Have you fed a Chicken Carcass, Marrow bone or a lamb Rib? These enrichment meals are perfect for releasing naturally positive endorphins into your pet’s bodies. Like exercise is encouraged for us humans for the same reasons. The chewing, crushing & thinking process release endorphins throughout their bodies. Resulting in an all over healthier & well balanced Pet.
Turning on the radio or turning up the TV
It sounds obvious but it can support balancing the noise levels. Prevents the sudden bangs.
Firework season can be tough on our furry family members & can also be stressful for ourselves but with some early preparation, including setting up a cosy den and using pet-friendly calming remedies, you can mitigate their stress. Remember, a calmer pet makes for a more peaceful firework season for everyone.
We’ll tuned for more tips on pet wellness and remember: A raw pet food lifestyle isn’t just about diet; it’s about overall well-being and taking a proactive approach to issues like firework fears.
